Call to Worship (from 1 Peter 23-24)
You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God. For
“All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers, and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

Prayer of Approach (together)
God of each new day, we gather as your people
in our separate place but still the church of Jesus Christ
that you call us to be.
Open our hearts to hear your message for us.
Open our minds to the possibilities which you lay before us.
Open our lives so we may know the power and presence
of our risen Lord among us, Amen.

Your Social Justice Committee reminds you that Earth Day is coming up fast on 22 April! The theme for this 50th anniversary is “climate
action”. It’s a little difficult to celebrate this together this year,
but there are still things we can do. Taking a walk in the outdoors to
enjoy nature is a good option – provided you can do it safely while
social distancing. Create an individual “act of green”. Start using a
recyclable water bottle. Plant something! Try to reduce energy
consumption or make a commitment to one action that will do that over
the next year. Educate yourself on environmental issues. Do a clean up
of your own area of road, ditch or highway. Take the 22 day “Earth Day
Challenge”. Find out about it at:
https://www.earthday.org/earth-day-challenge/. Be creative – you
probably have time on your hands anyway :-).
