April 12, 2020 Easter Sunday

Hi Everyone.

Happy Easter!

This Sunday we start with the story of the day as we celebrate the disciples finding out that Jesus is alive.

Then there are a couple of wonderful craft suggestion from Bronwen and her family including pictures of some finished crafts. Son’t forget that you can send in pictures of your finished crafts which I can include on the website!

May has send two colouring page crafts for us just below.

As well this week I have included a link to a package of material from Children’s Illustrated Ministry which they are making available to us free of charge. This week is the Easter story from Matthew’s gospel and has lots to colouring and some things you can talk about.

At the bottom is a link to last week’s Children’s Worship Page and a link to more activities which our storytellers and doorkeepers have offered as ways to help in these long days.

CHILDREN’S TIME FOR

THIS SUNDAY

I Wonder Questions:
I wonder what the disciples felt as they gathered in the Upper Room?
I wonder how Jesus felt when the disciples ran away?
I wonder what it would have been like to come to the Empty Tomb?
I wonder why we tell this story every year?

Celebrate the Easter story by creating a picture to share with your family.  Start by painting or colouring a large circle to be the sky.  Trace your hand with yellow paper to be the sun. Make a grass hill by ripping green, painting, or cutting a hill out of green paper.  Cut out a black cross and put it all together!

Resurrection rolls have been a favourite Sunday school activity in past years.  If you are feeling ambitious and you have the ingredients, try them out!  Here is a link to the recipe:

Two more crafts for Easter Sunday from May. The first is a stained glass cross you can make and hang up. The second is an empty tomb you can build. Happy Easter!
