CHILDREN’S WORSHIP 0510

May 10, 2020 Fifth Sunday of Easter

Hi Everyone,

This Sunday we hear Jesus promise about a very special gift we are given. Have a look at the video- can you guess what the gift might be?

Then there is a craft suggestion based on our readings from Bronwen including some pictures of a finished craft. May has sent along a wonderful activity around flowers with Mother’s Day in mind!

The link for the Pentecost Challenge which I mention in the video is next. Everyone is welcome to participate!

Last but not least, I have included a link to a package of material from Children’s Illustrated Ministry which they are making available to us free of charge. This week there is some things to colour and a great word search.

At the bottom is a link to last week’s Children’s Worship Page and a link to more activities which our storytellers and doorkeepers have offered as ways to help in these long days.

Take Care and Stay Well,

Rev. Peter

CHILDREN’S TIME FOR

THIS SUNDAY

I Wonder Questions:
I wonder how the disciples felt when Jesus told them he as going away?

I wonder how the disciples felt when Jesus said he was leaving a gift with them?

I wonder why we sometimes forget Jesus gives us the same gift?

.This week, as you think about the peace, love and comfort that God brings to you, you can also think about who else in your life brings you peace, love and comfort. Ask some of those people to create this craft with you.

Start by choosing a paint or marker colour for yourself and begin filling your heart with your coloured thumbprints. Then, ask someone else to choose a colour for their thumbprints and ask them to help fill your heart. Fill your heart with the thumbprints of those around you who give you peace and love.

You may choose to keep the heart for yourself as a beautiful reminder or you may wish to share it with someone who has contributed to your heart, as a reminder to them of how grateful you are for the peace, love and comfort that they bring to your life.

This morning we are talking about peace and below is template for a calla lily “flower of peace” as well as instructions on how to make one (it might also be a possible gift for Mom!). Have fun creating flowers and remembering the peace we are all promised!

Pentecost is coming!

In three weeks, the church tells the story of the arrival of the Holy Spirit and the start of the church. You can click on the link below and see the Pentecost picture to colour. Take a picture of your artwork and send it to me (minister@stjamesuc.com) and I’ll include it in our Children’s worship video for May 31st.

Don’t have the printer? Let me know and I’ll mail you the sheets or you can create your own drawing or artwork on the Pentecost story and take a picture of that for our video.

Young in age and young at heart and everyone in the church is welcome to send along your Pentecost pictures as we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and the start of the church.
