July 12, 2020 Sixth Sunday After Pentecost
Hi Everyone,
This week we continue looking at the psalms and how they help us better understand God and how we are to live as God’s people.
Bronwen has send another part to the mobile to help us remember what the psalms teach us. If you haven’t started your mobile don’t worry there are links to show how to make the frame and the earlier crafts.
I’ve also included a word search that has some of the words and phrases from this week’s psalm. If you don’t know all the words ask someone to help you understand what they mean!
At the bottom is a link to last week’s Children’s Worship Page and a link to more activities which our storytellers and doorkeepers have offered as ways to help in these long days.
Take Care and Stay Well,
Rev. Peter
CHILDREN’S TIME FOR
THIS SUNDAY
This week we’re looking at Psalm 119:105-112
and our highlighted verse is verse 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
This week we’re going to continue adding to our mobile that represents ways that God responds to us and the ways that we respond to God. Each of the pieces of the mobile reminds us of a Psalm. By the end of the summer you will have a very special creation to hang in your house, or to give to someone you love, to help us all reflect on our relationship with God.
Constructing the Mobile
If you’ve already started your mobile and added your crafts to the mobile skip to the next section for the craft for this week.
If you haven’t constructed the mobile or crafts have a look at this page for instructions

Our Fourth Craft for the Mobile: God Shows Us the Way
This week we will add a lamp to our mobile. In the same way that we use a flashlight or lamp to help us see in the dark, God’s word helps us see the way to turn and the path to take.
Here is a good tutorial for making a paper lamp: https://www.firstpalette.com/craft/paper-lantern.html
Instead of using the letter sized paper suggested in the tutorial, we used a piece of paper that measured 15cm X 15cm so that it would fit our mobile nicely. Get creative and decorate your lamp with craft supplies that you have at home! Then, add your lamp to the fourth long string of your mobile.
