August 23, 2020 Twelfth Sunday After Pentecost
Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone had a great week and that your summer is going well! This week we’re going to talk about giving thanks as God’s people using Psalm 138 to help guide us.
For those who have been doing the mobile this summer all the long strings should be filled with crafts and we added the first short string last week. Don’t worry if you have missed a week or haven’t started because there are links below to show how to make the frame and the earlier crafts.
I bet you can think of lots of things to be thankful for and I’ve included a word search on our psalm with lots of words around being thankful and being God’s people!
At the bottom is a link to last week’s Children’s Worship Page and a link to more activities which our storytellers and doorkeepers have offered as ways to help in these long days.
Take Care and Stay Well,
Rev. Peter
CHILDREN’S TIME FOR
THIS SUNDAY
This week we’re looking at Psalm 138
and our highlighted verse is verse 138:1a
I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart
This week we’re adding another part to our mobile that represents ways that God responds to us and the ways that we respond to God. Each of the pieces of the mobile reminds us of a Psalm we’ve talked about this summer. By September you will have a very special creation to hang in your house, or to give to someone you love, to help us all think on our relationship with God.
Constructing the Mobile
If you’ve already started your mobile and added your crafts to the mobile skip to the next section for the craft for this week. If you haven’t constructed the mobile or crafts have a look at this page for instructions

Our Tenth Craft for the Mobile: We Thank
Find something that you give thanks to God for. Recreate it with your craft supplies, or draw a picture of the thing you have chosen. I often thank God for my family and friends and so I have made a little person out of pipe cleaners, to represent the people in my life who I love. Next, attach it to the second short string of your mobile.
Like Word Searches?
Here is a word search with some of the key words from our psalm this week…can you find them all?
