August 30, 2020 Thirteenth Sunday After Pentecost

Hi Everyone,

Wow! Where did the summer go? It’s hard to believe that we are already at the end of August! This week we’re continuing to look at the Psalms and what they teach us about God and how we respond to God. Today we’re talking about how God invites us to ask and how we learn and grow in faith when we ask God in prayer.

For those who have been doing the mobile this summer we are on the final two strings of the craft. Don’t worry if you have missed a week or haven’t started because there are links below to show how to make the frame and the earlier crafts.

The Word Search is linked below with lots of words which remind us of how God calls us to live and how when we do we ask for the best things for our lives!

At the bottom is a link to last week’s Children’s Worship Page and a link to more activities which our storytellers and doorkeepers have offered as ways to help in these long days.

Take Care and Stay Well,

Rev. Peter

This week we’re looking at Psalm 26:1-8

and our highlighted verse is verse 26:1-1

Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and mind.

This week we’re adding another part to our mobile that represents ways that God responds to us and the ways that we respond to God.  Each of the pieces of the mobile reminds us of a Psalm we’ve talked about this summer.  By September you will have a very special creation to hang in your house, or to give to someone you love, to help us all think on our relationship with God.

Our Eleventh Craft for the Mobile: We Ask

This week create a giant question mark and decorate it! We made ours out of an old cracker box, cut it into a question mark shape and then coloured it. Inside of your question mark you can write down questions that you might have for God. For example, you might ask that God watch over a sick family member. Or you may ask God how God created trees. Or you may ask God how you can help your parents. There are lots of things to discover when you ask God.
