Today is International Democracy Day. The theme for 2024 is “Empowering the Next Generation”. It emphasizes the importance of youth involvement in the advancement of democracy. Young people have an essential role in advancing democracy and ensuring that their voices are included in the decisions that have a profound impact on their world. They are the current and future custodians of democracy. Sept 21st is the International Day of Prayer for Peace. We unite to pray for peace and justice in our community, our country and throughout the world.

Who is Jesus? For some, he’s a teacher or moral guide, for others he is Lord and personal Saviour. The Rev. Dr. Heather McCance, President at AST, will lead a course this fall to help participants think about who Jesus was, who the Church tells us Jesus is, and who is Jesus for them. Sessions are Tuesday evenings from September 17 through October 22 from 7:30 through 9:00 pm via Zoom. The cost is $70 plus service fee. Everyone is welcome to participate in this open learning course. No prior learning is required! Participants should have access to the book Freeing Jesus by Diana Butler Bass, who will be visiting AST in the spring. Watch for details on that! To register please visit the AST website .
