Our Minister: The Rev. Peter Andrew Smith.

Rev. Peter Smith came to St. James in December 2007.

A graduate of Atlantic School of Theology and ordained by the Maritime Conference, Rev. Peter served congregations in Parrsboro (Trinity United Church) and Port Greville (Grace United Church), both in Nova Scotia, and in Quispamsis (Quispamsis United Church) in New Brunswick before coming to Antigonish.

Rev. Peter is enthusiastic about meaningful worship and preaching and enjoys Bible Study and discussion with people of all ages. He can be frequently seen engaged in conversation as he drinks tea during coffee hour.

His monthly column “Get Inspired by God’s Love” appears in the Antigonish Casket. Rev. Peter’s first book of Lectionary Based Communion prayers, “All Things are Ready” was published in July 2007 by CSS Publishing and some of his stories from Sermon Suite are found in the latest edition of “Lectionary Tales from the Pulpit” also from CSS.

A native of the maritimes, Rev. Peter is enjoying settling in to Antigonish with his wife, Rev. Meredith and their two small dogs who can be seen from time to time walking along the Lochaber Road.
