September 6, 2020 Fourteenth Sunday After Pentecost

Hi Everyone,

Today we finish up our time looking at the psalms as we remember and think about how we learn from God. For those who have been doing the mobile this summer we are on the final string of the craft which brings all the previous lessons together. Don’t worry if you have missed a week or haven’t started because there are links below to show how to make the frame and the earlier crafts.

The Word Search is linked below with lots of words which remind us of how God calls us to live and how when we do we ask for the best things for our lives!

At the bottom is a link to last week’s Children’s Worship Page and a link to more activities which our storytellers and doorkeepers have offered.

Thanks to everyone who has helped make these online children’s worship pages possible. Many gifts and skills made all of this possible- Thanks to Bronwen and May for providing crafts and activities, Linda and Christine for additional ideas, and to Chad for taping the videos for me each week.

Next Sunday, the Children’s Worship will take place at the church and the children’s time will be part of the main worship service.

Take Care and Stay Well,

Rev. Peter

This week we’re looking at Psalm 119:33-40

and our highlighted verse is 119:33
Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes, and I will observe it to the end.

This week we’re adding the final part to our mobile that represents ways that God responds to us and the ways that we respond to God.  Each of the pieces of the mobile reminds us of a Psalm we’ve talked about this summer.  Today you will have a very special creation to hang in your house, or to give to someone you love, to help us all think on our relationship with God.

Our Twelfth Craft for the Mobile: We Learn

This week school will start and, despite all of the interruptions and challenges of Covid-19, you will be reminded of the excitement and the challenges of learning. As Christians, and in our relationship with God, we are always learning and its not always easy, just like in school. So, this week create a small book to add to the final string of your mobile. You can give the book a title (we called ours We Learn) and then fill the pages with what we have learned over the last few weeks about how God responds to us and how we respond to God.

As a reminder, the lessons of the last few weeks have been: God listens, God promises, God is merciful, God shows us the way, God knows us, God is faithful, God loves, God gives us peace, We praise, We thank, We ask and, finally, We learn. Then, add the book to the final string of your mobile. Find a special place for this mobile or someone to give it to.
