Your Social Justice Collective asks you to note that 22 April is Earth Day, dedicated to celebrating year-round environmental protection movements. This year’s theme is “Our Power, Our Planet” highlighting the impact of collective climate action. Also, the 24th is World Immunization Day – under the banner, “Immunization for All is Humanly Possible”, this day aims to protect humanity’s greatest achievement and ensure even more children, adolescents, adults – and their communities – are protected against vaccine-preventable diseases. And the 25th is World Malaria Day. The 2025 theme “Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite.” aims to raise awareness about the urgent actions needed in the fight against malaria, emphasizing the importance of continued investment, innovation, collaboration and commitment from the global malaria eradication community.

We encourage you to celebrate Earth Day, Tuesday April 22. At the Heritage Museum and later at the Landing two events are planned. At noon there are two short talks about The Landing. One gives the human history. The other gives the climate impact. Refreshments served.
The second event at 1:15 is a BioBlitz using the app iNaturalist. Come to learn in small groups at The Landing nearby. Go to the Facebook site of Seniors for Climate-Antigonish for more information
At night(6:30) the first public screening of the documentary Never is Too Late from October Rally. Peter Murphy’s local footage is included. Community Room, Town Library.
