The Social Justice Collective asks you to note that the 28th is the National Day of Mourning (Workers). This annual observance commemorates workers killed, injured, or made ill due to workplace hazards. Established in 1984, this day involves lowering flags to half-mast on Parliament Hill, moments of silence, and a renewed commitment to workplace safety! Every year roughly 1,000 workers in Canada die “on the job” or from workplace hazards .
