10:00 am Pancake and Sausage Brunch at St. James following the Highland Games Parade. We’re still looking for volunteers as well as donations of muffins. Your Social Justice Collective asks you to mark World Population Day – celebrated annually on 11 July to focus attention on the urgency and importance of population issues. Millions of women, globally, are still not given access to safe and effective family planning methods. Which is why it has been chosen as the focus for previous years. Family planning is a basic human right. It should also be a voluntary choice. Gender equality and women’s empowerment depend on it. Furthermore, it is
a key factor in reducing poverty. Canada’s own population has just surpassed 41 million!
