The Social Justice Collective invites you to mark 30 Sept, the 6th National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day – wear orange! This is a great time to revisit the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls for Action. The 1st is also Mi’kmaq Treaty Day. Both of these dates generate special programming on APTN and CBC – check some out. The 1st is also the International Day for Older Persons. Honour the elders in your life. And the 2nd is the International Day of Non-Violence. Observe a moment of silence for world peace at noon and try to mend personal conflicts in your own life.

The 16th annual Blessing of the Pets Service will be held on Saturday, October 3 in Antigonish at 2:00 in the Garden of St Theresa on the former Bethany grounds. This beautiful service will be attended by clergy of various denominations, many lovely pets and happy pet owners. All are welcome! Pets must be leashed or crated. In case of inclement weather, the service will move to the hall at St James United Church – please use the back entrance.
