The prayers and Christian sympathy of the congregation are extended to
Chad Brazier and Sarah Armstrong following the recent death of Chad’s
mother, Kelley Brazier. A celebration of her life will be held later this
month in Ontario.
The Social Justice Collective draws your attention to two dates this
week. The 8th is International Literacy Day whose 2025 slogan is
“Empower Minds, Change Lives: Celebrate World Literacy Day!” Did
you know that Dolly Parton’s “Imagination Library”
(antigonishimaginationlibrary.com) initiative promotes children’s
literacy in Antigonish by providing free monthly books for almost a
thousand children from birth to age 5! The 10th is World Suicide
Prevention Day. The 2025 theme is “Creating Hope Through Action”.
Let’s work together with our families, friends, healthcare workers,
religious and political leaders to prevent suicide through active
counseling and support. It’s time we empower everyone to be in charge
of their lives, and help them value the life they have. This day focuses
attention on the issue, reduces stigma and raises awareness – suicide can
be prevented. Remember 9-8-8 is now Canada’s Suicide Crisis
Helpline. Help is available 24/7 in both English and French.
