November 14, 2021 – Twenty-Fifth Sunday After Pentecost

GOD BRINGS US TOGETHER

Prelude
Welcome and Announcements
Call to Worship (responsive)
The voice of God echoes through the natural world.
God calls us to draw near.
So we gather as people of faith to worship.
Jesus calls us to follow as disciples.
Opening our hearts and hands to reach into the world.
The Spirit calls us to transform the earth by our love.

Prayer of Approach (together):
God of grace and life,
the world around us is still chaotic and anxious
so we come before you burdened by worry and fatigue.
Tell us once again of your grace and your mercy,
fill us with the strength and hope of the gospel,
and restore us through the power of your love.
For we have gathered as your people in Jesus’ name, Amen.

A warm welcome to everyone who is joining us for worship. May this be a time for you to draw closer to God. We gather asking God to help us build better relationships with our first nations neighbours in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. The services online are posted each week on our website (www.stjamesuc.com) and through social media (www.facebook.com/stjamesAntigonish )

Your Social Justice Committee asks you to note that the 16th is the International Day for Tolerance. This annual observance was declared by UNESCO to generate public awareness of the dangers of intolerance. The 1995 declaration of Principles on Tolerance stated, “Tolerance is respect, acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world’s cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human.” Also the 20th is Universal Children’s Day. “Investing in our future means investing in our children”. This is a fun day – with a serious message of protection and welfare of children’s rights.
