Your Social Justice Collective invites you to note that today is the UN’s World Oceans Day – the official theme for 2025 is “Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us”, which highlights the ocean’s natural wonder and our responsibility to protect it – especially vital to all Nova Scotians. And the 12th is the World Day Against Child Labour. This year’s theme “Social Justice for All. End Child Labour!” emphasizes the need for coordinated action from countries, organizations, and individuals to eliminate all child labor this year, as outlined in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 8.7. The campaign encourages the integration of child labor issues in humanitarian action, upholding the human rights of refugee and displaced children, and addressing the root causes of child labor, such as access to education, and decent work for adults.
