Your Social Justice Collective invites you to celebrate World Humanitarian Day on August 19th . The 2025 theme is “#ActForHumanity”. This emphasizes the importance of protecting civilians and humanitarian workers from violence, and calls for an end to impunity for attacks on them. It celebrates the power of collective efforts to really make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. It acknowledges the professionals and volunteers who help organise and deliver aid in the face of disaster, to alleviate suffering. Whether that’s quickly organising the delivery of medical aid to a region that’s been hit by a natural disaster, or long-term efforts to bring safe, fresh water to areas that rely on unsanitary water supplies, these people save lives. As such, they deserve to be recognised!

The church office at St. James is closed for the summer. The church voice mail (902-863-2001) and email (office@stjamesuc.com) as well as the secure mail slot in the office door are being checked on a regular basis. The office will reopen Tuesday, September 2rd.

How can you help support the life and work at St. James? If you are worshiping in person there are the offering boxes at the doors for your donation. Envelopes can also be dropped off at the office (or in the mail slot after hours) or mailed to “St James United Church, 197 Main Street Antigonish, NS B2G 2B8.” Online donations via credit card can be made by clicking on the “Donate” button at www.stjamesuc.com and interac etransfers can be sent to eft@stjamesuc.com
